Dr. Xu obtained her B.S. degree at Nanjing Agricultural University in June 2012, and got her PhD. in food science with Prof. Robert L. Buchanan at University of Maryland in August 2017. She is working at USDA-ARS as a postdoctoral research scientist (2017 to date). Her research interests are food safety/quality, next generation sequencing, bioinformatics, sampling strategy, modeling and simulation, food microbiology, molecular biology, and risk assessment. Until now, she has published 10+ papers (such as Int J Food Microbiol., J Food Microbiol., Food control, J Food Prot., Microbiol Resour Announc..) and work as a reviewer of journal of Food Science and Technology. She is also the symposium organizer of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting.
