    Suha al-Madbouh graduated with the degree of Doctor of Public Health (Dr.PH) from Bielefeld University/ Germany in 2014. She obtained her master degree in Environmental Health from the American University of Beirut (AUB)/ Lebanon in 2006. Currently, she is a post-doctoral researcher, lecturer, and academic supervisor at the Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (ITT)/ Cologne University of Applied Sciences. She is also on-call consultant and evaluator for the environmental and health research proposals at the Palestinian American Research Center (PARC) in Ramallah City, Palestine. Additionally, she is a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Trainer and conducted different SEA training courses in the MENA region, including Palestine and Jordan. Previously, she worked as a project coordinator for different health and environmental projects in the West Bank implemented by the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, Ramallah Municipality, Al-Quds University, and Medecins Du Monde Greece

    Horticulture at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research
    Center at El Paso, Texas A&M University. Her areas
    of expertise are in environmental stress physiology
    and plant production under controlled
    environment. Dr. Niu has received several awards
    and recognitions from professional societies, TAMU
    and USDA. Dr. Niu received a Ph.D. in Horticulture
    from Chiba University, Japan, and MS and BS in
    Agricultural Engineering, Zhejiang University,
    China. Prior to joining Texas A&M University, she
    worked at Michigan State University on ornamental
    crop production under controlled environment, the
    USDA-ARS, and a private company on micropropagation and nursery crop
    production in South Carolina.

    Dr. S.E. Ramashia graduated her PhD in Agriculture (Food Science and Technology) on the 21st of September 2018 ( University of Venda), Masters degree in Food Technology on the 5th of May 2013 (Tshwane University of Technology) and Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology on the 16 of September 2004 (University of Venda). She is now permanently employed as a Lecturer at the Department of Food Science and Technology (2017 to date). She teaches Cereal Science and Technology, Food Microbiology, Food Commodity Processing, Fruit and Vegetable Technology, Product Development and Sensory Evaluation of Foods (coordinating). She coordinate Research Project for final year students. I am currently supervising and co-supervising two master’s students and one student waiting for September 2019 graduation. I also supervised more than 20 BSc in Food Science and Technology final year (4th) research students. Dr Ramashia also serves as mentor, researcher who published her work in the international journals. She is a reviewer of Elsevier, Springer, Brazilian of Society of Science and Technology and other Asian – Indian Journals. I worked in the Food Industry from 2008 to 2013 where I held different positions such as Quality Controller, Senior Food Microbiologist and Departmental Food Technologist.

    Dr. Ping obtained his B.S. degree at Zhejiang University of Technology in June 2007, and
    completed his Ph.D. with Prof. Yibin Ying and Prof. Jian Wu at Zhejiang University in June 2012. He
    joined Prof. Yibin Ying’s group at Zhejiang University as a research fellow in July 2012. Then he moved
    to Prof. Terry WJ Steele’s group at Nanyang Technological University as a visiting scholar from August
    2013 to August 2014. After that, he worked in Prof. Hua Zhang’s group as a visiting scholar from
    September 2014 to December 2015. On January 2016, he joined the College of Biosystems Engineering
    and Food Science in Zhejiang University as a ZJU-100 Young Professor through “Hundred Talents
    Program”. His research interests focus on rapid detection techniques for food safety and quality,
    including sensors/biosensors, electroanalysis, fluorescence, DNA, and nanotechnology. Until now, he
    has published 5+ patents and 50+ papers (such as Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater.,
    Nano Energy, Small, Trends Anal. Chem., Nanoscale, Anal. Chem., Biosens. Bioelectron., Food Chem.,
    J. Agric. Food Chem., J. Mater. Chem. B, Electrochem. Commun., Electrochim. Acta, and so on) with
    total citations (non-self) of over 2100 and H-index of 24. In 2015, he was awarded as “Excellent
    Reviewers” by Biosensors & Bioelectronics journal from Elsevier B.V. Publishing Company. Now, he
    served as an Associate Editor in Jounral of Food Process Engineering (a Weily Journal).

She is working at USDA-ARS as a postdoctoral research scientist (2017 to date). Her research interests are food safety/quality, next generation sequencing, bioinformatics, sampling strategy, modeling and simulation, food microbiology, molecular biology, and risk assessment. Until now, she has published 10+ papers (such as Int J Food Microbiol., J Food Microbiol., Food control, J Food Prot., Microbiol Resour Announc..) and work as a reviewer of journal of Food Science and Technology. She is also the symposium organizer of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting.
